Crown Lynn Dinner ware
I'm a fan of Narvik ...I've got to get to the box to photograph it though...hehe
Even though the kiwiana.org site has some dinner set examples I'd still like to compile a more in depth resource some time in the future... So if anyone can post photo examples of Crown Lynn dinner set styles and their names for future use in a CL dinnerware guide...that would be most wonderful...
Thanks in advance Jo

Adding to the dinnerware gallery
Hi,
I think that due to the time difference I've missed the Sunday chat.
I liked the dinnerware gallery since that is what I have in terms of NZ potteries.
Can the Monterrey pattern designed by Dorothy Thorpe be considered to be part of this gallery? I can upload more photos.
Also can anybody confirm that some of the pieces like the milk jug were designed for people with arthritis?

Re: Crown Lynn Dinner ware
Hiya
Yes of course your monterray can be included - we'd love it! You can either upload the photo yourself directly to the gallery or post here and I'll copy and paste it in...just one thing if you'd like to upload yourself - name the file "Monterray" as for some reason the file name shows as the gallery headline. I got caught with that and had to delete them all and upload a second time
Cheers
Jo

Great photos thanks ev ...
Just a reminder about photos from public displays - if you haven't sought permission already could you fire away an email to the New Lynn library please and perhaps post a link to their website if and when they grant permission. Even though the photos are your copyright its a bit of a grey area over public displays I believe...so would be great if we can all just be careful ...if you have permission from the library already just ignore me.
Cheers Jo
Re: Crown Lynn Dinner ware
Oh thanks Jo.... I never thought of that - as the display isn't inside the Library.
I must also find out who did the research for the display so will kill two birds with one email

Crown Lynn Monterrey
Hi Jo,
Thanks very much for your reply. I've been away & so just saw your message.
Being in Canada & therefore in such a different time zone makes it difficult to participate.
Will try & upload photos of my dinnerware soon...
Cheers
Pat

Re: Crown Lynn Dinner ware
Hiya Jo,
Contacting the New Lynn Library is like using snail mail.
Yes anybody can take photos of their display as long as .....
they are not used for Commercial purposes....
or in other published resources.
I have asked for permission to post photos on a Crown Lynn collectors forum
but a week later I'm still waiting for a reply.....
So I'm still not sure as to where I stand on this issue.
Should I delete the photos Jo?
Or should I wait until I have a response?
I think the same grey area will apply with any public display.

Re: Crown Lynn Dinner ware
Yeah I know what you mean...it took about 3 weeks for the Auckland museum to confirm that I could use their photos on the site.
I'm sure most public places won't mind but as it is let's face it ...good free publicity for them. Just wait I guess - I'm sure someone will get back to you... just let them know you'll gladly provide a link to their website etc that might help ...

YUKATAN
I think this pattern is fantastic. I have, I'm not sure, 6 or 8 large oval-ish plates packed away and mint condition.

Crown Lynn Dinnerware update
if you're wanting to view or upload new photos the button marked "Gallery" on the top forum menu will take you there.
I've changed a few forum gallery sections around due to space restrictions so we'll just have Crown Lynn dinnerware in this gallery from now on.
Carol Clarke has been posting a pile of dinnerware patterns over the last few weeks - well worth checking out ..thanks Carol
