Cambridge Glass Fair
The Cambridge Glass Fair is to be held at Linton Hall, the Pottery & Glass forum will be exhibiting from stand 43, if anyone is over in the UK at that time, please pop in and say Hello.
New features on www.potteryandglass.forumandco.com include previously unseen photographs from two exhibitions
Fat Lava (which the book by MarkHill was based on) and Hi Sklö Lo Sklo (which also featured a new book by Mark).
These exhibitions were based on the collection of Dr Graham Cooley.
The next Cambridge Glass Fair will take place on Sunday 22nd February 2009 at Chilford Hall Vineyard, Linton, Cambs CB21 4LE. The fair is open from 10.30am-4.00pm and admission is £5 (accompanied children under 16 free).
'300 years of collectable glass in one day.'
This is the UK's leading specialist glass fair with around 100 exhibitors selling fine quality antique and decorative glass from all periods including glass artists showing their own work in the dedicated Contemporary Hall. The foyer exhibition for this fair will be a private loan collection of English Victorian pressed glass showing the various colours used by Sowerby and other factories including some rare examples. Whitefriars.com will be exhibiting a collection of Whitefriars ducks, again showing the different colours and shapes of these ever-popular collectables. John Ainsley of Antiques Info magazine will be signing copies of his new book, 'Glass Prices at Auction', and the Paperweight Collectors Circle will once more be holding an ID Clinic where you will be able to bring along any weights or related items for help with identification, value etc.
Refreshments can be found in the Great Hall. Take a break and have a light lunch, indulge yourself with a delicious cream scone or maybe sample a glass of one of Chilford Hall's prize-winning wines. Lunctime music will be provided by solo guitarist Jerry Harrison. A great day out at a superb venue.
Parking is free with up to 1000 spaces. For further information please telephone 07887 762 872 or visit www.cambridgeglassfair.com
I hope you are all Fit & Healthy, Best Regards Kevin
