I would die from a ceramics overdose. Do you have it all out on display or some packed away?

Re: What have you got hidden at home?
I have a lot packed in tea crates and moving boxes, as it is easier to keep safe, that way most of that is in either the garage or the basement, i have over 9000 pieces of ceramic, and 1000 pieces of glass, the ceramic was bought as research for my forthcoming book on West German Pottery (WGP).... i twill potter about later and take some pictures....

Re: What have you got hidden at home?
Were there many studio potters in Germany during this time. Some of the commercial potteries here in NZ tried to imitate the studio pottery even going as far as including internal throwing marks. What were the influences of this style of Germany Pottery?

There were 100s of small studios (Töpferei) as well as some larger studios like Helmut Schäffenacker, Elly & Wilhelm Kuch, Horst Kerstan, Rudi Stahl, Wendelin Stahl, Wilhelm Kagel, Inge Böttger, Barbara Stehr the list is endless, all producing bauhaus influenced pieces, and passing their knowledge onto younger potters. In Germany today there are 1000s of small Töpferei´s i pass 3 on a daily basis, all seem to be thriving.
But the daddy of them all was Helmut Schäffenacker his wall tiles, urged on companies like Ruscha to produced commercialsed quantities of similar styles.

Re: What have you got hidden at home?
We had a Indonesian born Dutchman called Theo Schoon who live in NZ, he tried to incorporate the bauhaus ideas and Maori art into a modern NZ art form...including pottery....not really sure how successful he was.

Re: What have you got hidden at home?
West German Pottery (WGP) had outside influences as well, with designers like Heinz Siery & Cari Zalloni both who trained abroad before coming into mainsteam companies like Scheurich & Steuler respectively.
