Can't recall interlaced initials

Post  Ross Millar on Wed Mar 04, 2009 8:27 pm

I can't recall interlaced initials as being any of Len's marks, but will have a look at my references to confirm. Secondly I can't recall seeing Len mark a piece where the glaze flows into/over the mark. His marks may appear where there is pigmenting but not glaze. Tim will no doubt correct me as necessary with some fab example that he has.

I correct myself

Post  Ross Millar on Wed Mar 04, 2009 8:34 pm

Of course there's the example that Tim posted with that lovely lava glaze flooding the LC cipher in the link that jo posted above, so i correct myself immediately re the glaze not flooding some marks.

I think though that you may be able to see the LC (Castle's) mark doesn't have that 'affectation' where the L laces through the C - rather they appear 'homogenous' when 'linked' together.

I'll still go and have a look at my refs though and let u know

It doesn't seem to fit in with the Castle marks I have seen......
