Hen on a nest, could this be local ?

Post  chef on Mon Mar 09, 2009 11:50 pm

Another mystery,I dont think it's from the UK or USA,no mark. The body is white and chalky, cream slip glaze inside.
The lid ( hen ) has been produced in 2 halves, the base in 1 piece. There are a couple of shrapnel bits inside the base.
I don't think it's a homer she's too well made and the detail is too good.Could it be local? I'd guess either Milton,Hutson or Exler from the body.

wouldn't it ? It's quite an old piece so I don't think it's Titian, the body is far too chalky and sort of rough, and the slip glaze inside is not very smooth. Cheers Chef
