i would just like to say that myself and Shazz would by no means say we are experts but we do have for a number of reasons a passionate interest in Titian. We wish to build a profile that gives the Brown family and their atristic beleifs the credit it deserves. If anyone has any information that is related to this subject please contact the forum whether you beleive it is correct or otherwise.
This site is and will continue to be an outstanding source of information for everyone and it would be great if we could all share our knoeledge.

We look forward to your input.

Shazz and Savvy 7

The Auckland War Memorial Museum had an exhibition of Titian Studio Ware in 2004 .This would be the best place to start as It had information from the family. And took many months of interviewing Cameron Brown before his death.

passion for things can rival knowledge in many situations, infact they travel hand in hand and arrive at the same destination more often than not, they are the accomplices in getting to the bottom of matters of common interest, there cannot be one without the other, its a simple fact, so sail on, its all a learning curve.

And I echo Tims thoughts, dont be so hung up on makers marks, i was taught a valuable lesson on the issue today as it happens, a piece i discounted for the lack of one, was picked up by my lady 10 minutes later and arrived home regardless I havent stopped appreciating it since .

i look forward to your input

I attended the exhibition in 2004 and aware of the work Mary Morrison put in. Have tried a couple of times to make contact but no success yet. Back in our NZ storage unit we have photos of every piece in the exhibition and cant wait to dig them out whenever we get back.
It was a great exhibition and educationally fantastic.
My wife Diana was a great niece of Cameron Brown and we have both talked to him about his pottery and found some of his storys truly fascinating.

Thanks Journeystone and yourself and Tim are absolutely right about marks. The family have a number of unmarked pieces that were gifted by Cameron Brown that we are sure not many know exist - check out the Lladro style figurine in the gallery for starters.
