Patricia Perrin
Hi Tim
A question for you on Pat Perrin:
Do you have anything sculptural she might have done in the 50s a la Henry Moore? I have a bit stamped Perrin that looks like its come straight out of a Moore exhibition. Its not like anything else I've seen of hers (not that I've seen too much) I'm only familiar with her attractive home wares and later rougher pots.
It has a red clay body like some of the Castle Pin Dishes.

Re: Patricia Perrin
Hi Titian, I know Perrin made some big pieces but my knowledge is very limited. Did you see the exhibition a few years back at Corbans? The curator of that would probably have the best idea as she must have seen all sorts of pots at the Perrin estate. I know I did!

Hi Tim, its so nice to have you back!!!
Hi Tim
Not a day went past without me looking hopefully at this blog for a post from Tim Caulton. It's so great that you're back on deck. Your knowledge and humor was much missed. Hope you're on the permanent mend now.

Tim
Perrin's sculpture is quite wee actually. I didn't hear about the Corbans exhibition until later unfortunately so wasn't able to go. The photo in this link to the Te Papa collection (which was at the exhibition) is a great view of what she was doing in the late 60's but I imagine her studio might have looked quite different 10 years earlier? The great thing about the black&white pic is you can zoomin really close to the pots on her shelves and see them in detail.

Re: Patricia Perrin
You know I believe Patricia's sisters are still around. It might be possible to contact one of them. Very nice people. I had them look at a bunch of Perrin style pots, only one was real.

The ones on the pic are all well marked (unless someone's started faking Perrin too lol )

Re: Patricia Perrin
At the time Pat was potting there was another person who was copying her pots and marking them with Perrin I believe.....

Re: Patricia Perrin
I'm not sure who, but Phyllis or Yvonne would know, they told me about it. No details however....worth investigating though
