Could be Frank Clarence Mars or Paul Michaels which would explain the M&M mark. Hmmm bit of a mystery Red

You know it has a sort of Doris Dutch look to it, not as fine but that sort of style. She did surface decoration a bit like that with a needle. But its not her mark.

know what you mean...I have a small Doris Dutch piece which is similar in colour and "scratchies"...lol

doris dutch or double dutch??

I dunny get it.. anywhoooo's... the top is pottery, ok, well the whole dammed things pottery - BUT its smooth 
and yeah, it looks like its been taken too with a needle BUT nah, it looks more like a knife.. the grooves are quite deep yah know? yah know? I dont know, here's hoping you know.. yah know!?!?!

The mark is Mike Truebridge. It is Not a Doris Dutch or pupil of hers. This is clear in the Potters Marks Book.

Even though the MM mark superficially looks like Truebridge, I think there are enough differences to rule him out. Here is the Truebridge mark, note how MT has an angular mark where as the MM mark has curves.
From what I have seen of Mikes work this is nothing like his style. It is much closer to a Doris Dutch style. Doris had many many students. But it could be anyone when it comes down to it...... I should see is I can find a similar DD pot in my archives....
