Went to the museum Empty Went to the museum

Went to the museum today, in between the radioactive injection and the bone scan to check out the pots there. Saw a cool looking pin dish with fish, has the pale clay though with no iron oxide wash so the fish were lacking depth. Anyway came up for air after being transfixed by the silent video of Mirek Smisek making a nice big branch pot. And here I was thinking all this time these things are thrown in just one piece. Nope, its made in two parts and then joined together. I wish I could have stayed longer and watched the others. Not sure why there's no sound, but still good to watch.

Wouldn't it be great if there was a museum publication which featured the whole exhibition......guess I should have paid my $5 donation.

Saw the fraction marked experimental glaze vases by Crown Lynn, wonder who painted those flowers on the surface.

oucchhh the first part doesn't sound good Tim....

and the last part...I'm ashamed to admit a few years back before I knew anything about CL... I found a large trickle glaze vase with flowers on it and I spent some time scrubbing them off...painstakingly in fact - as I thought some joe bloggs had painted them on just for fun... I think they look better without the paint. Anyway I have access to about 50 of them so would it be any help if I took some photos?

And feel free to add any of the images I have posted on here to the studio pottery gallery.

Thanks Tim... yep would be tremendous help - we have a lot of gaps still to fill

I'm tossing up over the gallery space as it probably won't hold anything more than a few interesting pieces...so perhaps thats what we should use it for ...kinda star pieces???

...and I might start a Titian and dinnerware guide over on my site (it's cheaper hosting by far) - then we can alphabetise and sort - the gallery section doesn't allow you to do that unfortunately ...but it is pwettttyyyyyy barman
