Delware copper dishes

I managed to find a set of two in their original packaging. Both rock drawings, will post an image when they arrive....

In the South Island, on rock outcrops, walls and caves there are some mysterious drawings, ranging from small to very large. It is suggested that they were made by early inhabitants of NZ, so are hundreds of years old. The style of the drawings are nothing like modern Maori art. There are a number of different forms, which appear to be things like birdmen, humans, fish, monsters, etc. Of course no one can be sure what they are or why they were done. And there is no Maori oral history about them either........anyway in the 1950's interest in them was revived, and a number of artists used the design ideas in their work. It seems Delware was one of them.
