Hairline cracks Empty Hairline cracks

Would you say a hairline is old if it is black/dark in colour? I would like to know for sure-I thought a new one would still be white, as a seller is trying to tell me that my item may have got damaged in the post but I don't think so...especially as the packaging was mint No

yes exactly...I don't think new cracks would be dark very often - unless you rubbed it in dirt Wink

Although I have to say... I sold an item about a month back and didnt realise it had a hairline until I started to pack it...I was mortified... emailed the buyer and asked him if he still wanted it at a reduced price...some things I guess just arent that obvious...I know too I do a lot of listing at night ..so I guess visibility isnt that great either.....alterntively...I'm getting old Embarassed Laughing

Thanks for that...yeah Jo I understand that, did it myself not long ago, but at least we have the decency to contact the buyer first giving them the option to back out of the deal or get it reduced. I check everything with glasses & a bright light now!
This person claims to have checked the item when they listed & when they packaged but they have very bad feedback for this same issue, so I guess I should have checked their feedback before buying.*smacks self*
Case of buyer beware I guess Sad

Hairline cracks Empty some hairlines

Post  shazz Thu Nov 27, 2008 1:44 pm

are extremely hard to detect! infact some you wont see unless you wash or soak the item in water. This is how I have found some of mine Sad if the hairlines clean, it's new OR if it's a white item, it's been soaked and the dirt comes out.. if it's dirty, it's older. drunken this is what I have found anyways
