A guess would be most appreciated....
I can't even come up with a guess at what the letters are
There is another bottle with a big face on it...
you would have seen the auction lol
but it doesn't have any potters mark on it.
They are both brilliant and I would never part with them

They are more than likely made by a female.....
as they are 'dainty' in a way.
That's a good guess.....
I will do some research on Pamela.
Thanks heaps Tim

Just to fill all of you nosey parkers in lolzzzz
Pamela Annsouth is Mirek Smisek's partner.
Mirek Smisek [I think Pamela was involved too]....
made all of the pottery pieces for the Lord of the Rings movies....
Mirek Smisek had connections with Crown Lynn at one time....
It's a small pottery world in NZ

Its a lovely peice.
But Pamela and Mirek are my Aunty and Uncle. They live not far. Aunty Pam is registered on Trade Me and will often correct or inform if someone thinks a peice is Uncle Mireks.

Yes I have
I would love to do one. Have even spoken about it with him. There may be alittle something coming out to go with his exhibition at the Mahara Gallery next year but I believe thats still to be decided. It sure would be interesting. To sit down with Uncle M is like a walk through history, not nice some of it, some of it coloured well by him and its never dull. He has had an amazing life.

Re: Salt glazed bottle potters mark help - Question resolved.....Pamella Annsouth
It would be a wonderful thing if you managed to get something together. The thing about exhibition catalogues and their short essays is there is a very limited exchange of knowledge...... No real way to really know the person and their work......Compare the large books on painters to that of a single page for a potter......As collectors we want to know the story as much as possible..........like the Mirek Smisek baby bowl I have
For example : What's the story behind this.....and how did I manage to get my hands on it..........I know some of the story but would like to know more...

A nice jug with blues. Have lots and lots of Pamela work. Whenever there is a baby born there is Pamela work with name of baby on. Also Mom, Pamelas sister, ALWAYS gives me Pamelas stuff as gifts. She is an artist that is truely underrated. Her paintings and sculpture are stunning. I have a large nude that she has done and its devine.

You have a point Tim
Its food for thought. My sister and I started a book about Cook Street Market a few years ago and we have left it sitting. Maybe its time we did one on Mirek instead!!!

Yep I remember Cook St Market, when I was little, and all the incense...there was a sort of central area where you could may be sit and breath in the smoke.....well that's my memory of the place...mix that with a bit of Browns Mill.......early childhood memories of Ak City

Sounds like you were so there
We were what was known as the market kids. Parents were llong term stall holders. What an education. Parents also had a pottery shop in Whenuakite (sp). Out by Dairy Flat in Auck. I have a funny feeling there are 100s and 100s of pots and pottery bits from the 70s all packed and stored at my dads. He is a shocking horder and most likely has no idea that some any value. Our house was always groaning with the stuff!! I guess it will be my job to dispose of it all when he goes. Oh joy!!!
