The sample room... Empty in the middle of the shelves!!!

What a great forum Jo! Just browsing and found the Herald pic of the Crown Lynn Sample Room you loaded. I think that I've got that horizontally striped vase in the middle of the picture coming up in Jim's auction. It's thin blue stripes over white with a brushpoint gold line over the blue. Jim said he though it was a unique Specials experimental piece and this photo may prove that. I'll try to photograph 2moro and load it.

I just photographed the vase that I thought I'd compare to the one in the Sample Room Herald photograph and here it is. Damn it's different to the one in the middle of the shelves.

The sample room... Empty Hi Ross I also have one which looks like

Post  funho1 Fri Mar 20, 2009 2:04 pm

one of those samples. And got it from your good selves in Aug 2007 ! Pic below. Compare with the vase on the 2nd from bottom shelf at the very right end. (shapes vary a bit because of lens ....)

Mr crownlynn has identified it as a Frank Carpay shape which seems never to have gone into commercial sale. Cheers Peter J
