Re: Crown Lynn Shape Guide
Hi again. This may not be from the Wharetana range at all (I stand to be corrected). This is a pin container (quite small), the lid of which had a Maori motif produced in the 50's. The moulds I think must have survived or been copied and transferred down to Luke Adams in the 1970's when that pottery became a subsidiary of Crown Lynn. The mould (or its sister) was then used to produce a range of pin containers with lids of various Maori and NZ designs (including a kiwi) which were part of the Ngakura range.
Any other thoughts guys?

A follow up on this shape - a quote from Geoffrey Clark
"This was made some twenty years plus after the Wharetana series. It was made in the same style using some of Harry Hargreaves original designs and was given to the shareholders at one of the Annual General Meetings.
Did you know that it was an Englishman who designed and made the moulds of all of the Wharetana ware and he did that without any training. His name was Harry Hargreaves and he had several sons who also worked at Crown Lynn."
Thanks for your help Geoffrey
looks right
aswell as the fact that it's the same colour as the other clam shell wall vases by crown Lynn
