Hiya Xera_mcwonder
the photos are cool ....you're going great guns on uploading ... if you select the 360 size option it will fit the whole photo in...anything else tends to cut bits off ...
Nice plate though ... no marks at all?
Can you give us a TM number to look at your other auction please?
Jo

Hi Xera - I have a very similar piece - is yours just a small dish?? Mine has no markings either, I call it a pin dish and there is a pic of it on here somewhere - maybe the pin dish thread??

Re: NZ Pottery?
Looks to be the work of same potter, you would think such pieces would be worthy of the potter putting his scratch to it?

NZ??:pottery- maybe, maybe not
Hi Xera,
Lots of potters did similar work, the technique is drawing a quill tip or similar through the coloured slip - originally I think the technique dated back to 18th century England. It was revived in the 20th century I think by potters such as Raymond Finch who worked at Winchcombe and St ives (Leach's pottery). The one that I have photographed here is by George Frederick Cook from Ambleside Pottery (England) from about 1950.
It's quite possible that it is by a NZ potter following in that tradition - but who???
Cheers Rosco
