Ive collected Crown Lynn..
...for nearly 30 years, because of colour mainly.and beause i collected everthing to do with NZ pottery. So I collected all types with Crown Lynn amongst the group. There are more items available,as with CL shapes,so I collected more CL that any other pottery...all shapes, all mottled and trickle glaze colours.
Crown Lynn were the most prolific of all the potteries. They outranked others by 20-1,so in some ways some of their shapes were glazed more than others, due to demand, size and social requirements.its this rule that gives us a ranking system of particular pieces, with regards to the differing glazes that were applied to them...this gave them another level of ranking...common glaze to rare glaze, common shape to rare shape...
So if you wanted to have one of every shape in every colour[trickle glaze],that would give you 330 individual pieces,as not all shapes were trickle glazed and not every colour was used on every shape.Total shapes amount to 901 and when CL bought Titian,it added another 605 to its list, and then developed another 800 shapes until its closure...I still love the colours!!!...

Buying back our history brings a lot of pleasure and we use crown lynn on a daily basis which is another good point! investment and practicality all in one!
