Ernest Shufflebotham vase #15 apx 22 cm high
Hiya, I found one of these at a g/f's on the weekend with spatulas in it on her bench... it is very large. I did not have a tape measure or a camera on me. She would like to sell it. Does anyone have an idea of value and the best way to go about it? We are in Whanganui. http://www.soldbyauction.com.au/index.cfm/lot/111780-crown-lynn-ernest-shufflebottom-hand-potted-spherical-lined-vase/ BTW I can see no faults at all.... it is stunning.... Thanx for any help you can give. Cheers, Joy.

Wow what a find - her sponge cakes will never be the same again!! I am sure the experts will fill you in Joybelle but I reckon it might be worth quite a bit

Big shape 3 vase value
Joy,
I've just catalogued one of these for the Jim Drummond auction as follows
lot
208
Large Crown Lynn Hand Potted straight sided Shape 3 vase with lathe turned bands at rim.
$600 - $800
The estimate is hopefully reasonably conservative at the lower end to enable colectors to be 'tempted' It's quite likely to sell above the lower estimate as there seems to be lots of active collectors of Shufflebotham at the moment
Cheers, Ross

Thank you Ross. I really appreciate the information. It is one of the most beautiful pieces I have ever held. I will pass on your comments to the owner. (Maybe the winner of the auction would like a matching pair?) Have a great weekend, Joy.
