Titian Lamp Bases Infor required
I have'nt got any experience in Titian lamp bases at all, I recently bought what I thought was a Titian Lamp base, but it feels very different. The shape, appearance, lamp shade and style fits BUT when it arrived, it was heavy as.. a stipple effect, almost like concrete, but not quite. Collectiques recently posted a photo of a plain on in the Titian shapes section, it looks similar in texture. any help would be greatly appreciated - thank you

First thing I do when I buy a lamp base is remove the lamp bit....I cant think of a worse design feature than those old style lamp shades....Especially if its got holes, fly dirt, well actually in can be in perfect condition too

I went there a few months ago & they had some nice Luke Adams including teapots. I bought one plus these 2 vases - the Doris Dutch on the right is 19 cm tall and the left one is an Elizabeth Matheson "Paka".

Im to call back on Friday for more help. I could'nt remember the site address, but I did point him in the direction of collectiques and google in the hope that he would find the site. He sounded quite keen to take a looksie. If he has'nt found it, I will tell him on friday the address.

More info
since deciding that this lamp base is the same shape (after showing quite a few different people) is very similar if not the same as the one on page 158 (the effects of war section) of the "new zealand pottery book by gail Henry" I have taken the felt of the base of them lamp. The lamp has been filled with a substance thats probably been put there to insure the lamp is stable on the table of shelf. I have taken a photo of the base... the surrounding part seems like pottery, but it has residue from the felt on it, the outside feels extremely cold and has a stippled effect , the inside has been filled with the substance only about 1 third of the way.
