I think this is one of the most beautiful pieces in the series. The simple spirals and lines of the jade-green rim decoration give a halo-like effect when lit properly.

Number 1013 Small Tray or Nut Dish. Listed in some sources as a large ashtray, but it is not.

Just a couple of questions to end. Are the pieces in this photo the early Wharatane? They are un-numbered but have the characteristic C/L trickle graze with fractionated markings. Also, if they are Crown Lynn trickle-glaze Wharatana, how many other designs were there?

I'm not sure Titian ...but I have been told that the waka shape also came in a painted version, as well as traditional wharetana colours and white.

As a follow on to the Trademe collectors forum discovery ... I invited the owner along to our forum and she kindly has let us use her photo for the Crown Lynn shape guide.

Any wharetana collectors out there that could give our new member a guesstimate on value?...she's thinking about listing it on Trademe sometime soon...
